Munich Is Really Quite A Spectacular Travel City For All

Munich Germany is a frequently recommended travel city for anyone who is thinking about a holiday filled with scenery, landmarks, and attractions. Munich offers quite a few attractions for visitors. Located just north of the Bavarian Alps on the River Isar, Munich is truly a dazzling sight - both naturally and architecturally. In fact, it appears that no matter where you turn in the city, there’s something truly impressive to see.

Munich was home to the 1972 Olympic Games and the Olympic Park that was constructed for this event is still in use today and has some type of activity taking place there on more than 200 days out of the year. Visitors can also see the Nymphenburg Palace which was the summer home for the Munich aristocracy. Today, Nymphenburg is open to the public, but also continues to be a home and chancery for the head of the house of Wittelsbach, currently Franz, Duke of Bavaria.

The museums and art galleries that the city boasts make up for the sometimes lack of beauty within the streets of Munich. One of the largest and oldest science museums in the world is located on an Island in the Isar and it’s very possible to go visit the Deutsches museum. If you’re an art lover the largest art museum in Germany, The Alte Pinakothek art Museum is located in Munich as well. In Munich also resides the BMW museum which is a must see if you’re passionate about cars. I thoroughly enjoyed the BMW museum.

Munich also celebrates Ballet Week and the Munich Opera Festival. The Munich Ballet Week is a week long festival comprised of the Bavarian State Ballet where international ballet stars perform and dance as a way to celebrate this long time tradition.

The Munich Opera Festival has taken place every summer since 1876 as is thought of as the most important music event in the Country. This is a world renowned event and includes performers from across the globe. It is plain to see that Munich Germany is a valuable vacation destination. The choices of entertainment including art, music, and dance are but a few reasons to visit Munich. High class hotels and restaurants along with shops full of German made souvenirs and other memorabilia will allow everyone to take a bit of Germany home with them. Munich holds a lot of history and can be felt upon arrival.

Munich offers something for people of every age and is a marvelous place for a family vacation. If you’re planning a trip to Munich, you’ll find an abundance of cheap Munich hotels found near the city’s top attractions. And if you’re thinking about participating in this year’s Oktoberfest, it’s always best to schedule your Munich hotel room in advance.
